About

Dark Sky Point Reyes is an initiative of the Point Reyes Station Village Association (PRSVA) working to preserve the dark skies above West Marin, California. Our community is part of the 1% who can still see the Milky Way. Our distance from the urban glow of San Francisco and East Marin skies and the darkness surrounding Pt Reyes National Seashore help with our sky quality, but preservation must be intentional. We support the goals of the International Dark Sky Association.
Point Reyes Dark Sky proposes that our community undertake important steps to preserve this important component of our region’s natural habitat.

About the Point Reyes Station Village Association

The mission of PRSVA is to preserve the small, agricultural, working-town character of Point Reyes Station, balance local concerns with tourism needs, foster the creation of affordable housing, and increase community awareness and participation in planning and development matters.

The PRSVA meets monthly and provides a forum for community members to raise, organize and take action on matters that concern the present and future life of Point Reyes Station.
The Village Association offers a government-advisory mechanism to guide future planning decisions in Point Reyes Station in accordance with the Point Reyes Station Community Plan, and reviews use permits in the Point Reyes Station Planning Area submitted to the Marin County Planning Commission.
